Brief History:

In 1996, Dr. Robert Lynn Horne created The Robert Lynn Horne Foundation, a non-profit foundation with the goal of establishing a world-class museum in Las Vegas, dedicated to preserving the rich history and heritage of the Scouting movement.  Two years later, the Foundation began doing business and in early 2002, the Foundation's name was officially changed to the Las Vegas International Scouting Museum.  Dr. Horne's goal was partially met with the opening of the Museum's temporary facility on Charleston Blvd. in June 1999.  The Museum is currently developing plans and seeking sources of funding for the construction of a permanent 55,000 sq. foot facility to exhibit, store and protect the Museum's present and future collections.

Tax Status:

The Museum is an approved 501(c)(3) charitable organization, thereby allowing donors to deduct contributions to the Museum in accordance with the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
